Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple

Little India Arcade

Best Time & Weather
Singapore is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit Little India is from February to April when the weather is slightly drier. If you want to experience the district at its most vibrant, visit during Deepavali (usually October or November), though be prepared for much larger crowds and higher humidity. Always carry a small umbrella for the sudden tropical afternoon showers.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). While major malls and the Indian Heritage Centre accept credit cards and mobile payments like Apple Pay, the small stalls in the Little India Arcade and the food stalls at Tekka Centre are largely cash-only or require local apps like GrabPay. Tipping is not a standard practice in Singapore as a 10% service charge is usually included in restaurant bills.
Getting Around
Little India is exceptionally well-connected. The Little India and Farrer Park MRT stations serve the North-East and Downtown lines, making it easy to reach from any part of the city. For families with strollers, the MRT stations have elevators at every level. Within the district, walking is the best way to see the sights, but you can always use the Grab app to call a private hire car for a quick, air-conditioned ride back to your hotel.
