Best Time to Visit Singapore
Singapore is a year-round destination due to its tropical climate. However, the best time to visit is from February to April, which falls between the northeast monsoon and the southwest monsoon. During these months, you'll experience slightly less rainfall and more sunshine. If you're traveling with kids, avoid the haze season (usually September/October) and the heaviest rain in December and January.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Singapore is a highly cashless society; Visa and Mastercard are accepted almost everywhere, from high-end malls to most hawker stalls (via QR codes or cards). It is still wise to carry a small amount of cash for smaller food stalls. Tipping is not a standard practice as a 10% service charge is usually added to restaurant bills.
Getting Around Singapore
The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is the most efficient way to get around. It is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible with elevators at every station. For families, the 'Grab' app is essential for private hire cars, and 'Gojek' is a popular alternative. Taxis are also plentiful and use meters. For a scenic route, the Singapore River Cruise is a practical way to get between Marina Bay and Clarke Quay.
