Day 1: Changi to Ubin - The Island Arrival
Changi Point Ferry Terminal

Best Time & Weather
The best time to visit Pulau Ubin is during the dry season from February to April, when the weather is slightly cooler and rainfall is minimal. However, Singapore's tropical climate means it is warm year-round. Always aim to start your outdoor activities before 10:00 AM to avoid the midday heat, and keep an eye on the tide tables if you plan to visit Chek Jawa, as the wetlands are best seen during low tide.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). While Singapore is a digital-first city, Pulau Ubin is an exception. Most shops and bumboat operators on the island only accept cash. There are no ATMs on Pulau Ubin, so ensure you withdraw enough money at Changi Village on the mainland before boarding your boat. Tipping is not a standard practice in Singapore, but rounding up the bill at local eateries is always appreciated.
Getting Around
Transportation to the island is via bumboats from Changi Point Ferry Terminal, which cost $4.00 per person and run from dawn to dusk. Once on the island, the primary way to get around is by bicycle or on foot. Bicycles with child seats or sidecars are readily available for rent at the main village. For families who prefer not to cycle, there are a limited number of 'Ubin Taxis' (vans) that can be hired for point-to-point transfers.
