The best time to visit Pattaya is during the cool, dry season from November to February. Temperatures hover around 25-30°C (77-86°F) with low humidity, making it ideal for outdoor exploration. March to May can be very hot for young children, while the monsoon season from June to October brings short but heavy afternoon rain showers.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Thai Baht (THB). While large malls and hotels accept credit cards, you will need cash for songthaews (local buses), street food markets, and smaller stalls. Tipping is not mandatory but rounding up the bill or leaving a 20-50 Baht tip for good service is always appreciated by local staff.
Getting Around
The most iconic way to get around is the 'Songthaew' (Blue Baht Bus). These pickup trucks follow set routes and cost only 10-20 Baht per person—just hop on and ring the bell to get off.
