Best Time to Visit Egypt
The ideal time to embark on this luxury journey is between October and April. During these months, the weather is pleasantly cool, making it perfect for exploring ancient tombs and temples without the intense summer heat. If you enjoy the beach, the Red Sea remains warm enough for swimming year-round, though December and January evenings can be brisk.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). While luxury hotels and high-end restaurants readily accept international credit cards (Visa and Mastercard), it is essential to carry cash for tipping (Baksheesh), which is a deeply ingrained part of the culture. Tipping 10-15% is standard for excellent service in restaurants and for private guides.
Getting Around Egypt
For a luxury experience, we recommend a combination of domestic flights via EgyptAir for long distances (Cairo to Aswan, Hurghada to Cairo) and private chauffeured vehicles for intercity transfers. The first-class trains are an option for the nostalgic traveler, but private cars offer more flexibility and comfort. Within cities like El Gouna, private golf carts and shuttles are the preferred way to move.
