Final Dinner & Souvenir Shopping
Head back to the city center for a final Korean BBQ feast and to pick up some local snacks for the journey home.
Best Time & Weather
The best time to visit Daegu is during the Spring (April to June) for the cherry blossoms and mild temperatures, or Autumn (September to November) for the stunning fall foliage. Daegu is known as the hottest city in Korea, so mid-summer (July and August) can be challenging for young children due to the intense humidity and heat. Winters are cold and dry, which is manageable but requires heavy layering for outdoor park visits.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the South Korean Won (KRW). Daegu is a modern city where credit and debit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are accepted almost everywhere, from department stores to small cafes. However, you should carry some cash for street food at Seomun Market or for small purchases in traditional districts. Tipping is not expected and generally not practiced in South Korea.
Getting Around
Daegu has an excellent, clean, and highly efficient subway system with three lines that cover most tourist areas. All stations have elevators, making them stroller-accessible. Taxis are also affordable and plentiful; using the KakaoTaxi app is the most reliable way to hail one. For families, the Daegu City Tour Bus is a great option as it loops around the major landmarks with a single-day ticket.
