Best Time to Visit Bahrain
The ideal time to visit Bahrain is between November and March. During these months, the weather is pleasantly cool, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 24°C (59°F to 75°F), making it perfect for outdoor sightseeing and desert activities. The summer months (June to September) are extremely hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C (104°F), which can limit outdoor exploration to the early morning or late evening.
Currency & Money
The local currency is the Bahraini Dinar (BHD), which is one of the highest-valued currencies in the world. It is pegged to the US Dollar at a rate of approximately 1 BHD = 2.65 USD. Credit cards are widely accepted in all luxury hotels, malls, and restaurants. However, carrying some cash is useful for smaller purchases in the souqs. Tipping is customary in Bahrain; 10-15% is standard in restaurants if a service charge is not already included.
Getting Around Bahrain
Bahrain does not have a domestic rail or flight network due to its small size. The most luxurious and efficient way to travel is by hiring a private chauffeur or using high-end car rental services. Uber and the local ride-hailing app, Careem, offer premium vehicle options. For trips to the Hawar Islands, private boat charters are the preferred method for luxury travelers, departing from Durrat Marina or the Ad Dur jetty.
